Hi

I am facing a problem on our sandbox environment Dynamics 365 v10.0.26.  I was able to created fixed assets.  But now a days, I get this error while creating a fixed asset.

Tried below points

  • Changed the prefix in number sequence.  Error persists
  • Changed the sequence.   Error persists
  • Checked in the database.  Unable to find this record it the database too.

Has anyone faced such an issue?

    Thanks Saurabh and Billur,

Billur:- When you export the books or check from AOT, do you see the books? -->Yes, I can See books!

Saurabh: What if you set auto and next number to something else? -- Same "The record already exists. error we are facing.

Saurabh: - Is it for only this book? Is there any derived book? -- We have only one book. There is no derived book.

Now, I refreshed data into the sandbox from Production. Now it is working fine.

Thanks for your Support Saurabh and Billur.

Probably, there is an issue with the books.

When you export the books or check from AOT, do you see the books?

    Hi Saurabh,

I hope you are doing well!!

I am working with Wilson. I tried the below activity to fix this issue.

    1. Removed Number Sequence from the Fixed assets then tried but the same result.

    2.  Add Number Sequence in the fixed asset group, remove Continuous, and set it as a manual in the number Sequence but with the same result.

    3. I removed the asset book Id. from the Fixed asset group then I tried to create an asset after that I am able to create an asset but as soon as I added Book Id under the asset master same "### record already exists error" Occurred.

Assumption 1: There is some issue in the Asset book. Maybe any blank record was created.

Assumption 2: I am trying to delete one asset and getting the error " The Fixed asset "##" is used in one or more transactions of the following types: Ledger and cannot be deleted. Maybe It is related to this issue.

    Hi Wilson,

Did you enable 'continuous' for this number sequence? Check the Status list on the number sequence. This might have an entry the old duplicate value. It will then try to re-use this number.
