I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this error please.
On a newly installed windows 10 pro machine, Dynamics Nav and the outlook addin has been installed. When posting a PO to a vendor using the outlook addin, this error is produced "A call to microsoft.office.interop.outlook.accounts.item failed with this message: Object does not match target type."
It then aborts. On a previous windows 7 PC, it used to work fine.
Where in Nav do you go to setup the outlook addin settings as I suspect that something hasn't been setup properly.
Thank you.
Great to hear that this is working. The Outlook Add-In was designed to synch contacts, to-do's and meetings. If you are able to use it for other things, great to hear.
Thanks.
Hi, so during the NAV installation process if you select "custom" you can choose to install the outlook add-in. You can then create a Codeunit using the development tool to customise the add-in to whatever you desire it to do.
There has been a development on this, it seems it has to do with the outlook add-in DLL file. We added the user to the local admin group and the codeunit was working. then removed from the local admin but gave the NAV folder write permission and again the code worked.
Then and removed the write permission from the folder to have the PC a typical setup and it still worked. Not sure why though.
Anyway this is now working, a bit bizarre on how it got there.
Thanks.
Hello,
What Outlook Add-In are you referring to?
Thanks.
