Hi
I have an issue using customization groups and I am wondering if anyone encountered a similar issue. Here is the scenario. I created two customizations for particular users to utilize in their day to day tasks. So I created those customization using group level.
However, when I put the user in the two customization groups, and call up the user maintenance window, I recognized that the last customization group is showing and the user do not have access to the other customization. But I need the user to get access to both customizations.
Anyone has any workaround to this scenario? I really believe that this was an oversight by the development team as this feature should have been obvious.
Nevertheless, any input to workaround this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Hello Lisa,
. Users cannot be in multiple customization groups at the same time. When you add an user to a customization group, the group ID gets saved to the CustomGroup field in the user’s record in the Userrec table. I am finding that this field can only contain 1 group ID at a time so this limits the user to being an only one customization group at a time.
I did find a new feature request 1748, but they've not got around to looking at it.
There could be a reason for this in the current design:
. Customization are loaded by sequence. If you created a customization for group A, that would probably be a sequence 400 customization. If you created a customization for group B that would also be a sequence 400 customization.
If you had an all users customization (sequence 300) and a customization for a group (sequence 400) and a self level customization (sequence 500) there probably isn’t an issue. Load the sequence 300, then the sequence 400 and then the sequence 500 customizations.
But if you had two sequence 400 customization's, I’m not sure which one it would load first, or maybe it doesn’t no how to load both. I don’t know, I’m just kind of thinking out loud. Maybe you can’t load two sequence 400 customization's for the same user.

Dear Lisa,
I was able to reproduce it, but I really can't say if the design was that the user can only be in one customgroup only. I will check into it.
