Importing historical information in Business Central

Good Morning,

Could I please have suggestions on the best way (if actually possible at all) to import historical financial information into Business Central, the example I have is information from GP but this could of course be imported into a spreadsheet then into BC or if there is a plugin available within Business Central which can transfer the information?

Standard way is you import it into journal and post it from there.

Can you still hold the dates from the historical transactions in these new journals?

Yes, you can either use the original date as posting date or document date depending on the requirement.
