Creating a not stocked product with a formula.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

 Hi All,

What to do: for creating a not stocked product with a formula in AX2012 R2?
Or is this not possible?

Thank you all for the information.

With regards

Nicky

You have to stock it to consume the cleaning product which is a "rework" of the kettle product. I am guessing this is more of a resource and the service element which I would not recommend the use of production but a service based maintenance order, but that would be an add-on. You cannot transform the kettle into a clean kettle without consuming itself and then stock the cleaning product and reduce it with each clean

A re-work order is not working for this because the article what used for cleaning is a purchasing article (none formula) and is after cleaning waste what not more useful is.

A option what we can use is a stock correction of the purchasing article, but we want register the cleaning in AX.

have you tried a 're-work' order? That will vonsume your cleaning product, but unfortunately you must make something on a production order of you can't end it.  So at some point you'll have to report as finished at least one of your formula item and then scrap it.

I have a stocked article what use for production and for cleaning the production kettles.

The cleaning of the production kettles will we do through a batchorder so that we use the stocked article can book.

After the cleaning is the used quantity of the stocked article changed in waste. Can we do this via a not stocked article with a formula ? Or is here a other way for?

Do you need the formula for Reference only?

Note that the "Stocked Product" in the item model groups if for expence items. This type of item should get directly expenced on invoice update.

You can create an item with an expence item model group and change the production type to formula. Then you can create a Formula for the item.

Could you explain why you would want to do this? I mean you would normally transform an item and it is an item and removing stocked to make a stocked product. You can have "phantom" items that are used within the structure, but this is a setting on the formula line rather than the item.
