Can Business Central + D365 do this to replace my Quick books Pro Desktop

Hi Everyone,

Hoping to get some clarification since I've been searching and can't seem to find an answer.  Currently our office of 15 people uses D365 for just about everything except the financial side which we use Quick books Pro.

We don't use the Invoicing entity in D365 because to my understanding it would require using the price list and that just will not work with how we bill customers.  Currently our users enter the financial / billing details into a tab on the opportunity that contains total revenue of the opp as well as a field that auto calculates their commission payout of the deal.  Using that information from a closed Opportunity we create an invoice in QB for our customers as well as a bill for the commission paid to our agents.  The invoice number  from QB is then entered into a field in D365 at which point an invoice is generated from a Word template on the Opportunity record.  This process gets done between 50-70 times a month.  It consumes a lot of time and the manual process of transferring the information from D365 to QB leaves room for human error.

So I'm wondering if there is a way to use Business Central along with D365 to automate some of this manual work.  My goal is to close an Opportunity as won and have the information from that financial tab we created (or even the Opportunity Close record fields) get sent to Business Central to create that invoice (to our customer / Account) and bill (to our agent / Opportunity Owner) that we are currently creating in QB.

I'm really just hoping that the two can sync without having to use the Invoice entity since I've been told to avoid it for our business.  Granted that was about 4-5 years ago so if something has changed there then we can reexamine it.  Even if we needed to adjust our current workflow in order to make the two systems talk to each other then I'm game to research it.  Anything to avoid the time suck we're working with currently.

Thank you for your thoughts!

Best,

Chris
