RMS update Error

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade my RMS from 2.00 to 2.01 but im receiving this error below:

Upgrade database

An error occurred while attempting to upgrade the database:

Column name in each table must be unique. Column name 'DBTimeStamp' in table 'DatabaseMetadata' is specified more than once.

Please help I'm not sure how to fix this.

Thank you

Rose

    RE: RMS update Error

    Hi again.

Appart from what I've mentioned, what I would do is try this next:

    - uninstall the SP2 (if it was that Service Pack you had) and check if the database is corrupted, make backups and all that, and then apply SP2 again. Then try the Upgrade option

    - install next Service Packs and hotfixes, available after SP2 and then try to upgrade

Just as an idea...and again, all in testing environment!

    BR, A.

    Hi,

The error happens when i'm RMS SO Administrator, menu Database, option Upgrade.

Yes, I did a update and it crashed.

I will try what you suggest.

    Thank you.

    RE: RMS update Error

Ok, but when does it happens? When You use RMS SO Administrator, menu Database, option "Upgrade..."??

It's very strange, to be honest. Have you tried to upgrade once, maybe stopped the process or it crashed and You are doing it again??

Are You familiar with SQL Server Management Studio? It's free tool (can be downloaded from MSFT, look for your SQL version) and with it maybe You can open the database, check the "DatabaseMetadata" and see if the column "DBTimeStamp" is duplicated or something... If You are not familiar, talk to your RMS Partner for help.

Anything You do, please do it in TESTING environment !!!

    RE: RMS update Error

    Hi Rosesha,

Can You give us more details, please? What last Service Pack did You applied? When this happens exactly, when Updating the database within RMS SO Administrator?? Are we talking Headquarters environment or single store?? Do You have any personalizations or add-ons installed? What SQL version do You use?

    Best regards, A.
