Sent Sales Report as PDF some are working, some are not working on Win10 64 bit & Office 2013 32 bit

Posted on by 492

Hi All,

I have some Windows 10 64-bit workstations with office 2013 32-bit which I can send Sales Document in an email as a PDF attachment on Dynamics GP, which some are not, Adobe writer 10 was installed on every GP workstation. Does anybody know what is the cause?

Thanks,

Rob

    Hi Nicole,

Have you seen this problem before? I even tried to use DEKSQL for this but nothing recorded. Should I clone a good workstation to the one which is not working? What is the root of the cause?

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi Beat,

We select PDF as a format in Sales in GP Administration, as I said some are working, some are not. I tried to find a solution on those workstation cannot. We already have the Adobe writer 10 license purchased for those GP workstations.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

GP doesn't require Adobe Acrobat to be installed on a client to send out invoices in PDF format, as Word can natively handle the creation of those file formats..

Have you checked your e-mail settings in GP Administration (Sales section) to make sure that PDF is selected as output format for e-mailing ?

Acrobat Writer is only required if you want indeed use the 'Send' option from the Print dialog form.. but to mass mail invoices to customers, it's not required.

I tend to stay away from Acrobat since many versions now as I've seen to many weird things happening with GP and stick with simple basic tools. Acrobat Writer is way too expensive for what it does and has become a monster of a software over the years.. Simple tools like PDFCreator or CutePDF achieve the same result for much le$$.

    Hi Nicole,

Thank you for your reply! We are using MAPI in GP system Preference setup.

When a user prints a Dynamics GP report to the screen and then attempts to click the Send To button and then clicks the Mail Recipient (PDF) option it fails to complete the process.  After the user clicks to mail the report nothing visually happens on the screen except the cursors stays as a cross hatch for about 6 to 15 seconds.  No error messages display.  If you look in the Outbox of Outlook you will see that an email was created without an attachment.  Users are trying to email invoices, statement, credit card receipt and possibly other reports as well. Some users workstations work correctly and some users workstations do not work.

    See email in Outbox:

    Hello Robert,

    Thank you for your post.

What occurs when you attempt to send PDF sales documents? If you receive an error, could you provide a screen capture? *please note that these forums are available to the public and to not include any personal identifiable information.

Which sales documents are you having problems with?

Are you using Exchange or MAPI under System Preferences?

I look forward to your feedback when available.

Wishing you and yours healthy and happy days ahead!
