Hi,
On certain reports when I export to Excel, I receive "The Given Key was not present in the dictionary" and it causes Report Viewer to crash and close. It worked fine in CU9. It is GP 2013 SP2 using datamart. I have Export to Single Worksheet unchecked and also have unchecked Headers and Footers to see if that works, same issue.

I'd be curious to hear if this is still a bug in CU 11 Hotfix 2?
Hello Harry, so it seems that this is not just a bug, but a bug with attitude.
In one report the client has 4 lines of Header, has the Include Formula checked off and sure enough the report will not export to Excel.
In testing others, I find a report with 5 lines of Header, has the Include Formula checked off and sure enough the REPORT EXPORTS CORRECTLY.
In the first case, I went and removed the 4th line - @BLANK - and that did not solve the problem, I went back and put the 4th Line back and removed the check on Include Formula and the report and export worked as expected.
So at a minimum the answer to the problem is remove the Formula option. That seems to be the only consistant solution. However, as I noted above, not all reports are treated equal. I have a feeling that it is related to the complexity of the formula in the report - but, hey what do I know.
Not sure how to proceed. Is there anyone that has posted a case with Microsoft on this matter?
This worked for me as well - I unchecked export formulas and voila I no longer get the Given Key not present error
Hello Ryan:
Your reply was somewhat helpful because it educated me on what to look for in our reports. However, they did not have more than three Header lines and they were not exporting to a Single Worksheet. So just as a guess, I applied the fix that worked earlier today on a DIFFERENT error in CU10. It was the error regarding "Variable has data row value... not found in the variableOffsets" also reported in this GP community. When I opened these two new reports, I found that they were trying to export formulas, and even though that fix did not match this error, unchecking the formulas box made this error go away as well. I would say that this definitely s/b opened with Microsoft as the export of formulas is supposed to be one of the new features of CU10--apparently not fully working yet.
Ryan,
This specific error occurred in releases prior to CU8 when exporting to Excel with single worksheet option marked and information in the fourth line of the footer: KB373961 “The given key was not present in the dictionary”
Perhaps there was a regression in CU10? Try checking the header and footer to see if they have a fourth line (or more), and save an alternate configuration of the report, and remove anything below the third lines. Keep the Single Worksheet unchecked and rerun the report to see if you get this error. If you do, it indicates it doesn't matter if you suppress headers and footers when running the report.
This would indicate you've found a bug, and you should report it to Tech Support, because they require a case to link to. Microsoft will credit back support cases, when an actual bug is involved.
