Recurring billing setup in GP 2010 question?

Posted on by 5,990

Hi, could someone point me how to set up a recurring billing in GP 2010. We have customer that subscribe to our services and we typically charge them every month (until they request cancellation of our service) - we charge by their Credit Card or ACH.  Does GP 2010 provide such feature?

If so, what is the best way to set this up?

Does it integrate with payment gate such as Authorize.net? How does it work?

Appreciate your help.

    Good Day to You,

How would you use "Scheduled Payments" to bill a customer? I thought scheduled payments fell under purchasing?

    Hi,

It looks like you have some good options to handle recurring biling. Some customers that offer services to customer also create contracts using the Contract Administration module and this can be setup to bill monthly. There is also the scheduled payments feature in GP that can create monthly payments (invoices).

Credit Card processing in GP requries a 3rd party product.  Nodus Credit Card Advantage is pretty much the standard in that regard.  http://nodus.com/

Hi Frank, thanks for your feedback. appreciate it. I have used the recurring sales order in GP before so I can try with that. However, one question remaining - Is it possible to charge customer's credit card from GP? I believe we can set up CC info and possibly integrate with any Payment gateway for payment processing. Is that right or do we need to write a custom code to do that?

Thefe are at least 3 options out of the box:

    1.  Use a Repeating Sales Order (Sales Order Processing>>Setup>>Sales Document Setup)

    2.  Use a Recurring Receivables Management Batch

    3.  Use Scheduled Payments

Any one of these options could work depending on requirements.

    Hope this helps,
