Why would the FA to GL Reconciliation be showing a wrong period for a Fiscal Year and Trx date?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The FA to GL Reconciliation report is showing a wrong period for the transaction date.  I've looked at the Build Calendar and our Company Fiscal Period and both are setup correctly.

The person who ran it is claiming that they put 2012-002 as the ending period when he ran it.  Any insight?

The acquisition date of the asset is what determines the period on this report.

Are you talking about the GL Posting?  Tools>>Routines>>Fixed Assets>>GL Posting?

The transaction date or posting date is manually entered in after you put in the 2012-002.  And since that is only a transaction you can go in and change the posting date if you have not posted it.   If you have already posted the batch you can go into GL Transaction Enter and click on correct  Choose backout Journal Entry and Create a correcting entry on the transaction..  It will give you the batch to back out with the original and when you post that it will give you back your original entry  and just change the date on the Journal Entry and then post that.
