Change grid Values on Run time

Dear All;

I have one requirement where i want to display Businessjustification field from Purchreqtable to the purchreqtablelistpage Grid. I can display simply using display method but the problem is filtering not working with display method. As  Businessjustification field is saving recid inplace of string , so i want to 

display string value in any way so that in listpage filtering will also work. Can i convert recid to string in form

during run time..

    Yes, I understand that and as I explained above, it's handled automatically in recent versions. AX uses ReferenceGroup control, not Int64, therefore it shows replacement values instead of record IDs.

    Your screenshot is from table browser, which is a different case. Nevertheless it doesn't look this way if the current version, therefore you must have selected a wrong version when creating this thread. Is it AX 2012?

    Hi Martin;

    As you can see in the below image in the purchasereqtable i have only Recid stored and this recid 

    is linked with other table  PurchReqBusinessJustificationCodes and i want to display value from this table

    as also want to filter this value in grid on purchtablelistpage..

    You can use Reference group to link data from other table to the grid.

    You can see for example how the address information is shown on many standard forms such as SalesTable.

    Check this control on SalesTable form:

    PurchReqTable is the datasource of PurchReqTableListPage form, therefore you can simply drag the field from the datasource to form design. There is no need for a display method or anything like that.

    When you drop the field to form design, AX automatically uses a ReferenceGroup control to display human-readable values instead of record IDs.
