Sandip, as far as i know this error can also occur if we donot setup posting accounts for US required taxes such as FICA etc. further i have assigned a dummy account to all such fields. apart from assignment of posting account i have'nt used any of FICA etc type of taxes anywhere in my payroll setup therefore there is no reason for GP to show credit amounts in this dummy account for some of the employees but dummy account is showing credit balance and i am unable to locate reason behind.....

First you make sure all Accounts are set in Tools-->Setup->Posting-->Payroll Accounts. If you have multiple department with Multiple position you need to give default account for that you can use "ALL" for Dept , "ALL" for Position and "ALL" for Codes and give default account .
Use "ALL" for all "Payroll Account Type" this way system will assign default account for missing one if any. Run payroll and see how it goes. if it work with "ALL" logic that means you are missing Dept, Position or Paycode.
