MS Dynamics CRM 2011 - retrieving data from another entity to auto-populate new entity form

Hi. I am creating a custom entity form where I'd like fields on the form to automatically populate (on load) by retreiving data form other entity forms within the system. how do I go about achieving this?

    Hi,

    You can use Javascript code to retrieve data from another entity and set the values to the form.

    Hello rdfmorr,

    you will need to write a JavaScript function that runs on Load of the form,

    This function will have to retrieve data from the other entity.

    To do this will will need the entity name and Guid of the entity you want to retrieve from,

    i.e from a lookup value in your form.

    You can use OData query designer to design your OData query and can select which field you want to retrieve.
