Have you checked whether all the drivers of the peripheral simulator are installed appropriately?
As Microsoft has ceased the support for Windows 7, you would not be able to get much help for your problem.
Just wanted to let you know that operating Windows 7 after its end of life is not advisable as you would get no patches for any problematic code.
