Time entries for non-billable tasks

Hi all

Looking to implement D365 project ops for our org. Not sure how we handle non-billable tasks/people in the org for time entries eg internal training, HR staff etc. Anyone not billable to a project needs to have a "dummy" project set up if they want to do timesheets?

Hi AJ,

As you've stated you have to create a "Dummy" project for this scenario. In Proj Ops terms you would create projects of type "Internal" which is any project without a Contract/customer.

You will then be able to record hours against these projects and any respective costs for those hours. It will all be treated as a Non-billable transaction and only capture the "cost" entry as opposed to the full customer project where it would capture "cost" & "Un-billed sale".
