NAV2013 R2 NA - why does Assembly order receipt post standard resource costs to the DCA account listed

Posted on by 115

In the General Posting table? This is from the Assemble order receipt into inventory. I would expect it to use the Capacity Variance account from the Inventory Posting table? Apparently the production order uses that field. The DCA is supposed to be used as a purchasing offset. You cannot purchase a resource so why would it be posting to an account listed in that category. Is this a Microsoft Bug?

Actuallly programatically they are. Logically Assembly consume either human or automation resources which pretty much is the same as Production orders. So there is no need to treat them with a different methodology, regardless of programming. Assembly orders do access the inventory posting table and posts variances to the Capacity Variance. My question is why in the world does it use the General Posting Table DCA column to post resouces consumed ?

Assembly order and Production order are not the same features. There is not Capacity consumption in Assembly order. In this case, resource posting is not part of purchasing.
