Good day,
My version is Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 Business Solution = Business Edition
The issue is the following we have the headquarters in SPS (Honduras) but then we have 2 branches 1 in TGU and 1 in CBA.
We haven't started Dynamics training in the 2 branches due to the fact that we haven't even finished with the headquarters, but I have noticed that if I don't predertermine the id type, the site id, lot id, the sales clerks make daily mistakes by not reading.
I did the following: Microsoft dynamics GP > tools> configuration>sales > configuration of sales request process> then i configured on each the value of the predetermined document, but that only works with the SPS headquarters.
I did test today and obviously it requires for the people in charge of the branches to actually before they proceed, which is exactly what i'm afraid of.

This can be accomplished using a Macro. Please review the Tips and Tricks section of our web under Learning Resources->Tips and Tricks->Archive and then the SOP tips. You will find instructions there on how to accomplish this.
I believe that the only way to completely separate your branches so neither has access to the other is to set each up as a separate company. Setting up new companies is easy and the Chart of Accounts, User Security, User group security, Payment methods, Shipping Methods, Payment Terms, etc., if set up in the host company, can be duplicated in the target company. You then set the security of only the necessary people at your headquarters to have access to all companies.
Hello Al,
Thanks and yes I have it set up that way but what i basically need is that when the sales clerk in CBA (1 of the branches) accesses Dynamics and goes to transactions> sales > sales transaction if it says receipt it contains the site ID of CBA and not the one of SPS.
Please advice maybe I missed something and haven't quite gotten it yet. =)
I'm not sure if your Site ID, Lot ID, etc. qualify but many of these things can be set in user and user-group security. You could set up a different security group for Sales Agents at CBA than Sales Agents at SPS. That way when the user logs on the IDs are set acording to the security user group to which that person is assigned.
