i m using crm on-premise 2016 Whenever a new record is created in account entity, an email is sent regarding the successful completion of form. Also a email is sent whenever a user selects forget password link. Both the workflows are not working and error : "Cannot open Sql Encryption Symmetric Key because Symmetric Key password does not exist in Config DB." is shown. But the encryption key is present in CRM and data encryption is also active. Please provide a solution for this error.

This issue can occur if your instance was set up by taking a database backup from another CRM instance where data encryption was activated. If this is the cause of your problem then you will need to update the encryption key on your CRM instance with the encryption key from the original CRM instance.

Thanks for replying. This is a custom workflow which fires whenever a record is created in account entity and it created a record in login master entity. A email is also sent regarding the login details. The record is created in login entity but the email is never sent and status is always waiting even after resuming the workflow. Here is the image attached of the error.
