NAV - Work Center - Work Order : How to put aside a work order and liberate the load of the work center ?

Hello All,

I contact the community because we have problem that nobody has been able to solve yet, even if it seems to be simple.

At the SEMAT, we are currently redesigning our production line and so, change the parameterization of our current NAV instance (NAV 2013)

In this new organisation,we are going to have 6 work centers and 1 work order for each of them. So, our finished product which is a garbage truck, will be produced with these 6 work orders.

The production line is similar as the lignes you could see un the automotive industry.

So, the problem is the following :

Sometimes, we have to put aside a truck (i.e a work order on a work center) for many reasons (technical problem etc..). the problem is that we don t know how to put aside this work order and liberate the load of the work center to get one more work order to produce the next truck.

This work order which is put aside can be in this situation for a time we don t know in advance, so, playing with a  "waiting time" parameter is not accurate.

I don think we are the only company with this problem :-), so if someone could tell me how to manage this situation, it would be really great.

Thanks a lot for the time you took to read my post,

Best Regards,

Jérôme

    Hello,

Looking forward to hear about a possible suggestion that a partner / MVP can come up with.

    Thanks.

    Hello Marco,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Nevertheless, I'm not looking for a consultant but an advice on how to manage this case.

    Regards,

    Jerome
