Is it possible to assign a till prompt to an item i.e when selling this item a description box appears and details entered manually.
Any help would be great. Thanks

Although it's not a very elegant solution you can create and assign a 'tag along' item to your main item. This creates an extra line after the main item when entered at POS. You have to move the focus (cursor) to the line and overtype any default that appears but the process works OK for our needs. Flag the tag-along as 'Non inventory' so that it doesn't go negative stock and then it won't appear in your PO's.
