Contact Merge Deleted Timeline for One Contact, need to recover data

Hello,

I received a duplicate contact notification as the same contact had 2 separate emails, and therefore 2 separate records.

I clicked merge, thinking that the system would merge the information from both records on the new timeline. However, it deleted all of the timeline activity on one of the records. I need to get this info back.

I attempted to restore the inactive client, hoping this would still hold all of the old timeline data. However, it is missing from that record as well. Is there any way to get this info back?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I have tried to reproduce your issue but failed.

Here is the contact who has been merged.

But the phone call activity will be merged into the other contact's timeline.

Would you please provide more details about the merge operation?

Contact Merge Deleted Timeline for One Contact, need to recover data
    Hi MitchMcC,

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to lose important client information. Unfortunately, Dynamics 365 doesn’t provide a built-in safety net for situations like this, making recovery quite challenging.

While it sounds like you've already tried restoring the inactive client without success, I recommend checking out the Undo2Restore app by Inogic for future protection. This tool offers a one-click solution to undo changes and restore deleted or lost records in Dynamics 365.

    Here’s how it can help:
    • Undo and restore the last changes made to a record.
    • Undo changes from the past, allowing you to revert to earlier versions of your records.
    • Undo changes in multiple records at once, saving you time.
    • Restore deleted records and undo unwanted changes in bulk.
This tool acts as a safety net for your CRM records, which could help prevent data loss in similar situations down the line.If you're interested, you can find more information about Undo2Restore [here]. It could really save you a lot of time and stress in the future!

To learn more about the app and how it can help with your business needs feel free to mail us at crm@inogic.com.If you are interested in testing the solution for your needs, then you should consider checking out our app for a 15-day free trial from our website or Microsoft AppSource.Hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    Sam
