Sales Invoice Report customization

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I am modifying our Sales Invoice and have come across an issue.

The Header contains customer details that I don't want on any pages except the first page.  I am able to hide the customer details, but I can't reclaim the space those fields occupy.  I want to reclaim that space after the first page to allow more space for the detail lines on the subsequent pages.  As of right now the report shows only a few line items even though their is a lot of blank space above the body in the header.

Is it possible to collapse the header when the fields are hidden?  Or is there another solution to this problem?

Thanks,

Brendon

    Hi,

This is how it's done in the Aged Accounts Receivable.

I was able to resolve my issue, though it required moving the header fields into the body.  By using 2 rectangles with nested tables (tablix) in the body.  I entered customer details in the table nested in the top rectangle and copied the existing invoice detail tables into the second rectangle.

This allowed me to have the customer details on the first page and then on the following pages the rectangle containing the customer data collapsed and gave me the full page (minus the remaining header i.e. logo and invoice number that are present on all pages and footer).

    Thanks for your replies.

    Hi,

Its not possible in Page Header and Footer.

The Height of Page Header and Footer Remain Fixed in the Report Preview / Print as in the Report Designer.

You can only set visible to True or False but that will not impact the Height of the Report Header and Footer.

Let me know if you require any clarification.

    Hi,

You may have to change the design.  Please look at the Aged Accounts Receivable Report.
