Management Reporter Row format issue

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I imported a new company into MR and ever since all of my row formats are not displaying the accounts/account ranges.  The only thing I see are plus (+) signs in all the rows and can no longer see the accounts.  I tried restoring a backup of the Db but that did not seem to work either.  Has anyone seen this before and if so how do i correct it?

Jake, how can this be corrected when you're trying to create consolidated reports for companies with different account structures?   The report will run but the dimension settings are not saved.

The account links in MR display based on how the report was designed and the account structure of the company you are currently signed into. For example, if you created a report while in a company with one account structure and then opened that report while signed into a company with a different account structure, you would only see the plus signs (+) because MR does not know how to relate the design to the company you are in.

To see the accounts again, you should be able to log into the company that you originally designed them under. Then, you will need to determine which of the following is best going forward:

-If the new company should have the same account structure as the other companies, you will need to set the segment names to be the same under Tools -> Setup -> Company -> Account Format. If you are using the data mart integration, that will need to re-created.

-If the new company has a different account structure than the other companies, you may want to create a separate Building Block Group in MR in order to keep the reports separate between the companies. You can export/import a copy of the reports between the groups and then modify the copies under the new company to use the account structure from that company.
