Customer statement report not saving filters and options

(3) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 603

I am running the customer statement, and inputting a start and end date. I also toggle include filters. But the problem is after clicking ok, the next time I run the report, I am forced to include start and end date toggles again, and adjust them as needed. How does the customer statement get set or a setting elsewhere to auto adjust and include last saved filters?

Hi, Unfortunately, not all standard reports have this feature; this is determined by the following property.

Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to manage saved settings for Reports (Used options and filters)

    Thanks

    Hello,

Business Central should normally remember the report request-page settings. On the Customer Statement request page, check Use default values from and select Last used options and filters; Microsoft states this entry restores the options and filters from the previous run. One important detail is that saved request-page values are persisted when the report is run using Print or Send to, but not when the request page is closed using Preview or Cancel, provided the report supports saved settings (SaveValues = true). If you want a permanent predefined setup instead, open Report Settings and create/copy a saved setting for the Customer Statement report. So I would first run the statement once with the required Start Date, End Date, and Include options using Print/Send to, then reopen it and select Last used options and filters; if those values still aren't retained, check whether you're using the standard Statement report or a customized/replacement report that doesn't have saved settings enabled.

    Regards,

Hi, try running it from Tell Me instead of the Statement action on the customer card. That is the difference. The action doesn't run the report directly, it goes through the custom layout reporting codeunit, and that one builds its own parameter xml with only the customer filter inside, no options at all. So your dates and toggles do get saved after you press OK, they are just never read back on that path. Search Customer Statement in Tell Me and you should see Use default values from with your last used options there.

Preview and Cancel save nothing, only Print or something under Send to. And the dates are stored as real dates and not formulas, so next period you still adjust them,.

Glad to help - follow up if anything is unclear.
