System Date Being Used by SOP Batch as the Posting Date for Integrated Transactions

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello:

A company recently upgraded to GP 2016, and they use Integration Manager for importing Sales Order Processing transactions.

The batches successfully import through Integration Manager, however, when the sales batch is posted to the General Ledger that batch appears to be pulling the system date and overriding the individual transaction date for all posted General Ledger transactions.

The following are the specifics:

SOP Batch is created on 3/28/2018 and contains the Posting Date of 03/28/2018,
All SOP line items are correctly "coded" for end of month - 3/31/2018,
SOP data is imported through Integration Manager on 3/29/2018,
SOP batch is posted on 4/2/2018,
All transactions in the Detailed Trial Balance now show a transaction date of 4/2/2018!

So, posting this batch incorrectly places the Sales Order Processing transactions into the month of April instead of March.

Somehow, the system date is being used as the Posting Date for the SOP batch.

The company has tried to eliminate this issue by accessing GP's Posting Setup window for Sales Transaction Entry and changing the Posting Date From setting from "Batch" to "Transaction".  But, the issue still remains.

Again, this client upgraded recently to GP 2016.  But, I don't know of anything in this release that would cause this.

Does anyone know the cause and the fix?

Thank you!  Much appreciated!

John

RE: System Date Being Used by SOP Batch as the Posting Date for Integrated Transactions

    Hello:

Mystery solved.  I just got off of the phone with the person at the client site who more closely works with Integration Manager.

In fact, the batch was created by Integration Manager when run on 04/02/2018.  That's why the batch used that date as the posting date!
