Is it possible to create a custom field on the Mailbox entity?
I was just advised by a Microsoft rep to create a few custom fields in the mailbox entity while their engineers resolve an issue. However, when trying to create the fields I realized that the "New" button isn't available in the mailbox entity. Is this a bug, limitation, or am I doing something wrong?

I do not think it is possible to create a new custom field in the mailbox entity. The entity metadata gives us the possibility to know if we have the possibility to create a new custom field or not. For example, you can access the metadata of the mailbox entity by using the following query:
https://yourOrg.crm4.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.0/EntityDefinitions(LogicalName='mailbox')
