"Copy to" Function for edited master account

Hello,

Let say i already created an item master data

example

item code : Item-001

description : Billiard Stick

and copy it to all company (10) Company , using "copy to" function on Item Maintenance User Interface.

After that, i realize there is a mistake on description, it should be : "Golf Stick".

do i have to login to each company, to change and save new description?

or can i just edit the new description on one company, and copy it again to all company? -> (actually I've tried this option, its failed, system halt it, and said "already same item code with different desc or u.o.m")

Thank You for sharing :)

    Hi Frank,

unfortunately, there is very rare project documentation in here,

so as new employee, its difficult for me to understand the situation (how many portion of function or application that  developed by 3rd party)

and i don't know which one original part (original GP)

    anyway

thank's for identifying that was 3rd party. :)

Yes. that's definitely a 3rd party window.  Do you know what 3rd party application that window is part of Joni?  Difficult to troubleshoot without knowing how that window is supposed to function.

    Hi Joni,

I don't have a Copy To button, there are other differences on the window as well. This must be a third party product.

Joni, can you provide a screenshot of the window you're using to copy items from company to company?  I may be misunderstanding which window you're referring to.

    Hi Frank,

for each new item, i always use "copy to" features, to copy the new item to all company,

but in case any changes needed i have to changes it one by one  , individually like you said.

what i'm thinking of, can i use those feature to copy the "changes" only? i mean the description only, thats the question is.

but, refer to what i ussually do, and refer to your answer. i think i have to put my effort to change it individually

How did you copy to other companies using the Item Copy feature?  The purpose of that is to copy info from an existing item to a new item in the same company.

You need to change the desciption in each company, individually.
