Partial conversion of sales order

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

A customer comes and orders let say 300 Square Meters of Tiles. Currently I have only 100 Square Meters of tiles available at my ware house and I have to import balance of 200 Square Meter of Tiles to meet the customer order.

Now please tell whether Dynamics GP allows to make sales order of 300 Square Maters when I am short of stock as I have only 100 Square Meters of Tiles available? (Answer Please)

I assume that dynamics GP allows and I made a sales order of 300 Square Meters. Customer agrees to have delivered available 100 Square Meters and waits for the import of rest.

Next question is how can I convert the sales order of 300 Meters into Invoice or Delivery Notes of 100 Meters so that remaining sales order of 200 Meters can be traced and remain available in dynamics GP(with the information such as Days/Time taken to purchase the Tiles and expected date of Delivery to customer). then later at arrival of goods at ware house the remaining/partial sales order can be converted to Delivery Note/Invoice.

Waiting for your valuable guidance.

Best Regards

SOP can do this, fulfill the 100 meters to an invoice and leave the others on Backorder. You could create a backorder document if you want, but you don't have to. You can bind a PO to the SOP document is you want - you will be notified (by a report) when you receive the backordered items. At that point you can transfer the remaining items to an invoice. The Master Number allows you to keep track of all of the related documents. Click the expansion button (blue arrow) next to the document to see the related items.

    Kind regards,
