Can I have an extension for Business Central that works for Cloud and On-premise?

Hello, everyone.

I'm starting with Business Central and I need to develop an extension for it with some custom web services and that sends some data and receive it too.

The thing is: I will have to do this for the Cloud version and for the On-premise too.

Hence, my questions:

1) Is it possible to have the same extension working for the two versions?

2) If not, I could re-use a lot of the same code, right?

3) Would it be recommended?

1) Absolutely yes, this is the default behavior when you create an extension with AL:GO!

If you want to have an extension that works only on premise, set Target="OnPrem" in app.json.

This is absolutely recommended and you should always develop with the default settings.
