Security Roles for service task

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi There,

User is  trying to fill value in %complete of service task. When I am giving full administrator right to user, he can easily do the changes. But I don't want to give him full rights.  I want to know exactly which right/rights  should  I give him so that he can update %complete on service task Incident type. Do anyone has any idea about this?

Do you get more details from the Log file?

Looks good and I'm running out of ideas… Based on the "Business Process Error" I would double-check:

    - workflows on the WOST entity

    - calculated fields

    - business rules

    - Woodford configuration (rules)

What security role did you associate to your user when you get the error? Can you share a screenshot of the security role, right-most tab that shows the Work Order Service Task entity?

    Hi There,

I tried same thing with the rights of Filed Service Administrator and its working totally fine, I am able to put value in %complete of service task. No, we do not have any Plugin or workflow running on WOS.   I don't know why it's giving me prob with Field service  resource.

Do you get this error on save? Looks like its a workflow / plugin error. You have any workflows or plugins that run on save of WOS?

Just tried it on a fresh instance and I'm not getting the error. My mobile user only has the FS - Resource role. Can you check if there is custom logic in your system, either Dynamics or Woodford configuration? And did you check the log?

Yeah, I tried that too. But it kept on giving  me the error: Input string was not in a correct format.  I am just entering 20 in it. I don't know why it is giving me this error
