Advanced Rule Structure is not working into Project Management Journals (Expense, Hours, Items)

Posted on by 440

Hi,

We have MS Dynamics AX 2012 R3-CU9, We setup the 'Advanced Rule Structure' to force and show specific list of dimensions for each account.

We tested it by creating a general journal and selecting 'Ledger Account'  type and selecting the main account that we defined the rule for and it was OK.

My question is about the other sub ledger modules (For Example: Project Management), as i am trying to create a project journal but while trying to set the financial dimensions i found that the advanced rule is not applied although the project category that we are using is linked to a main account which linked to an advanced rule.

Is it logic or there is another setup that we have to do??

Thanks

    Hi Peter,

Please see the feedback from Andre about the filtering.

Can you possibly use ledger account alias as a way to ensure that the correct combinations are entered?

This does work probably for expense journals only but could at least save some time entering data.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Peter,

The account structures and advanced rules can be filtered and enforced for ledger accounts. When you enter details for subledger, like projects or vendors, it is at that moment not directly known what ledger account(s) will be involved during posting. For that reason, the filtering is not working, but validation and posting will apply the rules per ledger account.

    Hi Ludwig,

Yes, It was evaluated while posting or validation the journal but the dimensions not filtered while selection.

    Hi Peter,

Have you tried posting the journal?

At the time you try to post the rules should be evaluated and posting stopped in case you selected a not allowed combination.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
