Hi All ,
we are trying to configure case with dynamics portals, while resolving the case we are getting below error. I have enbled entity permission for case and caseresolution entities in portal. However cancel case is workign fine but resolving is not workign. any thoughts.
we are using Dynamcis 365 online.
by any chance do you have a Contract associated with your Case ?
Enabling Diagnostic logging did give us the exact error, portal was not resolving the case because , there was a change in the status reason of the case in CRM, out of the box status reason is 5 (Resolved). we have our own status reason defined which was not haing value 5. hence portal was not able to set the status, issue fixed after changing customization.xml file to update the status reason value to 5.
If you are doing this from the Entity List on incident (case) then you should just be able to add the Resolve Case under options (no other setup other than Entity Permissions).
What happens if your Portal User is assigned the Administrator Web Role, and you have assigned a Global entity permission on Case Resolution (with all rights set to Yes) to the Administrator Web Role?
What Web Template is the page using? Try it with the Web Form template if not already.
Did you setup the Portal "Enable Diagnostic logging" (requires Azure storage) as it can capture more error details in its logs than what you get on the page. More details docs.microsoft.com/.../view-portal-error-log
any other suggestion, the resolution window that showes up on click of resovle button in portal need to be mapped to CRM case entity ? or it does all that automatically ?
yes, customerid value is populated, I Have also enabled trace log, I can't see any traces.
Just to make sure problem is not from our custom code, I have disabled all the plugin steps and workflows that is getting triggerd on case !! but still no luck :(
can you make the "customer" field available in the Portal.. just to make sure it is populated
have you tried enabling the plugin error message ?
Yes, in CRM I can resolve without any issues. it's just in portal we are gettign this error.
hi, did you try enabling plugin error messages in the portal to see if there is any further detail? community.dynamics.com/.../display-dynamics-365-plugin-errors-on-portal
also.. have you tried resolving the case in CRM ? is it working fine ?
BUMP
