no such problem with the old RibbonWorkbench

Posted on by 1,010

I got the missing dependencies error while importing a managed solution that a colleague created, 4 SiteMap Entities from the managed solution SiteMapCustomization (9.1).  I'm (as usual) surprised.  I shouldn't have to have the Site Map tool present in the target in order to import custom site maps!

Is this a case where someone is improperly using the SiteMapCustomization tool?

thanks again for your consideration...

Sorry it took so long to reply.  The confusion here is I was thinking that SiteMapCusomization was some MVP provided solution like the RibbonWorkbench.

You accurately identified it as some developer flotsam.  It was NOT the blocked solution but the blocking solution.

More importantly, my question was ill-informed and I thank you for your answer.

    Hi Martin Donnelly,

Add the missing components to a solution in your source instance, export the solution, and import the solution into your target instance to prevent the error from occurring when importing the SiteMapCustomization (9.1) managed solution. Alternatively, remove the dependencies from the SiteMapCustomization (9.1) managed solution and import the solution into the target instance.
