Show undelivered Drop Shipment order lines in posted shipment

Hi,

When posting a shipment from a sales order, all order lines are copied to the posted shipment. Also the ones on you did not ship any quantities. This could be seen as a 'backorder' funtionality.

However, when using Drop Shipments, however, only order lines on which has been actually shipped/received are transferred to the posted shipment. In this case, customer would also ike to see the 'backorder' lines.

Any ideas on how and where to achieve this?

Because the shipment of a drop shipment is happening when you receive the PO line, unless all the lines are drop-ship and from the same PO, the system is not accessing the entire sales order.

You could have a customization done by your partner to get the report that you need.

Hi Michael.

You can see the lines you did not ship in an order with drop shipment lines.

If you have an order where one line is the Drop Shipment that gets shipped in full and the other line is a standard shipment, that will be your Backorder.

When I ship the order, I only ship the Drop Shipment line because I have no availability for the other line.

The Posted Sales Shipment will have both lines because a posted sales shipment is always about the sales header.

The first line has a Qty shipped of 3 because it's a drop shipment line. The second line has a 0 quantity.

The Sales Backorder report will show the line.
