Leave and absence workflow - manager submitting leave on behalf of worker - notification going to their manager?

Hi, 

I have created a workflow for leave and absence. However, when a manager applies for leave for their employee their own direct line manager get a notification on teams instead of them. 

How would I rejig the workflow so that the manager who is submitting time off for their employee gets the notification on team? I also would like this so that if payroll submits leave on behalf of the employee their manager get a notification.

    I don't find such features in D365 at the moment, which may require some custom code writing.
