Arrears Transactions

We are running GP 9.0 with HR and Payroll Modules. We began having problems with the mandatory arrears calculations about 2 months ago. One of our users can open the window and pick the payroll runs, but when she hits calculate nothing comes up. She is the only user having this problem. Has anyone had this same issue? Another user has been posting the arrearages until we can figure this out.

Now on to the second problem that is also arrears related. A couple of weeks ago, one of the payrolls that actually deducted arrears did not show up as a payment applied in the arrears transaction window. So it still showed those arrears open and was taken out the next week. The second time the arrears was taken out, the payment was applied in the arrears transaction window.

I would appreciate any insight anyone has in this area.

For your first problem, its eithre the users PC or its their security rights in GP.

If you log in as 'sa' at the problem PC, can you calculate the arrears? If not, its most likely an issue with her workstation. One thing you could try is to copy the contents of th GP application folder from a 'good' pc and overwrite the application folder on the 'bad' pc.

If 'sa' can calculate, then it is most likey something to do with the user set up in GP for that paticular user. You should check that users security set up. You could also try setting up a new user name for this person from scratch and see if the issue goes away.

Running the Grant.sql is always a good idea.

On the second issue - sorry, can't help - don't know much about payroll. You should post seperate issues in different posts - gives you the best possible exposure.
