NAV 2013 R2 Unable to post Assembly Order with a resource line when Location Mandatory is selected in Inventory Setup

Posted on by 1,303

We have a client using NAV2013 R2 who has "Location Mandatory" checked in their Inventory Setup. When they try to post an Assembly Order that has a Resource on any of the Assembly Order lines, they receive an error message indicating "Location Code must have a value...". Whenever they attempt to add a Location Code to the line, they receive an error that states "Type must be equal to "Item"..."javascript:void(0)

This was an issue in NAV2013 and we received a hotfix from Microsoft.  I did not see a similar hotfix for NAV2013 R2.  Does anyone have information?

Thanks,

Dan

Please apply the same fix you received for NAV2013 and it should work for NAV2013R2 also.

    Hi Dan,

I did not see this under Knowledge Base.  Can you share the resolution?

    Hi Dan,

You are correct this was reported on NAV 2013 and a hotfix released that was part of Update Rollup 1. It links to ID 342055.mbs2.microsoft.com/.../kbdisplay.aspx

Related to NAV 2013 R2, noticed it is indeed not included at least till Cumulative Rollup 6.

No idea why not, but should have gone into 2013 RTM (released to market).

I have reported it now to development to get it verified and when they agree included in future cumulative hotfix rollup for NAV 2013 R2. From my own testing, it looks the same solution should also work on NAV 2013 R2.

    Thanks, Christiaan.
