Management Reporter error for a specific month

I have a problem with the Management reporter 2012 CU 16 , i'm trying to generate a report for the year 2018 but it fails when i put November in the report, so it generates up to October normally and December can also be generated.

so i tried the following to try solving it but all failed:

  • i removed all segments and only chose the month in the column and chose a sales account that had transaction in that month and entered it in a single row - Failed
  • copied the column from a different month to November and changed the month - failed
  • i generated the report on other company it worked
  • ran reconcile and checklinks for the company - no change in the outcome
  • management reporter generates after processing ( unknown error has occurred while processing the report)
  • event viewer generates error ( Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.)

in my opinion there is something in the GP itself failing the management reporter to generate a report for that month, as the report it self works with other companies normally.

Hope to see some suggestions that may help solving this issue.

    You are welcome. The mention of "timing out" lead me to believe something was amiss in the database.

    Thanks Richard  for you suggestion as it helped me with more ideas for a solution, the DBCC routines didn't work but after doing SQL maintenance with Recompile and update statistics it worked afterwards.

    Hi,

    You actually don't specify which connector you're using in MR 2012.. the DataMart or the Legacy connector..?  This sounds like a data refresh issue if you're using the DM.. I'd start with a rebuild of the DM :

    Have you run any DBCC routines on this database? Perhaps there is an underlying problem with the database?

    DBCC CHECKDB is a good start. Make sure you have backups and do some searching on the various options.
