How to automate UI testing

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I am trying to automate UI testing for a Dynamics AX 2012 application. I used Inspect (inspect.exe) for windows applications. Seems like I am able to find the controls. However, I am not able to get the id of the controls. Please advice if another tool I need to use. And what should I use to automate the testing once I am able to identify the elements?

Thanks in advance.

Wanda

You can use Coded UI tests, here is a blog post about them  blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../data-driven-coded-ui-test-with-dynamics-ax
