USD: app in hosted control with modal windows keeps "floating"

Hello,

We've done an implementation of USD in with several hosted controls.

One of them is a windows desktop application used by our customer. This application was originally done with Powerbuilder and can't be modified.

Our problem occurs when we execute this application inside USD and we make clic on any of its buttons that open a modal window. When there is a modal window opened and we switch between tabs in USD, the modal window from this hosted app keeps floating on other tabs containing other hosted apps.

It's a big problem for our customer as they need these modal windows to be kept inside its own USD tab to see and compare data with others apps in their own USD tabs.

We think this is not a problem of our USD configuration but a USD limitation. But we need the opinion of USD experts to see if this can be solved.

Anyone could help us?

Thank you very much.

You are right & wrong :), It is not some thing wrong with your configuration but at the same time it is not a limitation of USD as well. USD merely is an umberella for all LOB applications which helps your agents to work on a single application.

In your case, I would say it is the LOB Windows applications behaviour to modal popup should always be on top. I don't think you can manage it any further unless you want to play with some traditional COM Components and fiddle the total application. May be the best option for you is, keep the application in a floating panel layout and let the users move the panel to other screens. That should help them even faster to compare ..
