Master planning -Planned batch order & Planned Purchase order with cancel action message

Why master planning is suggesting a planned batch order and planned purchase order with action message of "Cancel"?  If the planned order need to be canceled, why system suggest it at the first place?  Deleted the planned order and rerun still getting the same planned order and action message to cancel.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Liewleekim,

Are you able to firm those created planned purchase/batch orders? Can you post some screen illustrations of the problem your facing.

    Many thanks.

    Warm Regards,

    Zain

    Hi Liewleekim,

The action message is generated by the master planning calculation in response to the changes in previous requirements. It cannot directly influence your planned orders. And you can manually make a change based on the suggestions or do some settings about them in Coverage groups form.

Sometimes Action messages are linked together, meaning that if you have an actual supply (firmed purchase order) that is placed earlier than your planned purchase order and the purchase order do not cover all demands then you might get an action message to increase your actual purchase order and if you do this increase then you can delete your planned order, but if you do not increase the purchase order then you will have to firm your planned order to cover all demands. So make sure to see your actions as a whole.
