one account multiple budget

Posted on by 105

We have a particular account (EMI-GAD-XXXXXX-FOHI-RMMOD) which is used as PESO in currency.  All the items in Inventory and budget were set up as PESO under this account.  However, we wolud like to add another currency which is US DOLLAR.  How can we apply this to our company?  How can we upload a budget in PESO and US Dollar in one Account Number?  Or do you have any suggestion to make this senario possible?

The set up will be:

 EMI-GAD-XXXXXX-FOHI-RMMOD - Item# 23987 with currency PESO

 EMI-GAD-XXXXXX-FOHI-RMMOD - Item# 23988 with currency US DOLLAR

Thank you.

    Hi Sheila,

So you may need forecaster, how much to buy in $ for a specific item for future months. Is this correct? You will have to elaborate your requirement. Do you need amounts? Quantities? etc. Your original enquiry is dollar budget, I assume you are doing it in peso at the moment. How are you doing it in Peso at the moment?

    Hi Sheila,

So then if so, you can create another budget ID perhaps call it a Dollar budget. In GP you can create unlimited Budget ID.

Up front dollar budget is not available as it is assumed that budgets are expressed similar to your functional currency. But on the other hand it can not stop you from importing dollar amounts budget per GL account code.

Where do you need to see your dollar budget, do you need it in Frx?

Sheila, you won't see your Functional Currency (PESOS in this case) in the currencies available in the Select Account Currencies window because your account transactions are automatically reflected in PESOS because it's your Functional Currency.  You only select the other currencies you want to display in here.

    Sheila,

The GL budget is the same as what you get from Cards>financial...

There is no inventory item budgeting in GP, unless you are creating 1 GL code per item in your inventory. Are you?

    Hi,

Sorry for the confusion, but what is GL budget.  We didn't use this term.  Maybe what I'm saying is Inventory item budget in US$ and PESO.

    Thanks,

    Sheila

    Hi Ian,

Yes, we are registered as multicurrency (our default is "PESO") but in Account Maintenance I can't see "PESO" only YEN and Dollar is available.

Yes, Item# 23987 is in Inventory items.

About the budget, we want to have a Dollar and Peso budget in same account (EMI-GAD-XXXXXX-FOHI-RMMOD).  We upload the budget in GP>>FINANCIAL>>CARDS>>BUDGETS>>EXCEL>>IMPORT FROM EXCEL  one template for DOLLAR AND one template for PESO but we didn't have one account with two currency.

    Thanks,

    Sheila
