We have an issue where the Set Regarding feature of Outlook is creating duplicate contacts in CRM.
If a contact emails a CRM user from a different email address than that stored in their contact record in CRM, if the user tracks the email using Set Regarding, they search for the contact and the email is correctly attached to the contact record, however CRM creates a new contact record with the only fields being populated as the last name and email address both filled with the alternative email address that the contact has emailed from. The system seems to ignore Business Required fields so to de-activate the unwanted contact, you have to edit it, fill in the required fields and then de-activate it.
Surely this cannot be the correct default behaviour of CRM?
