Virtual entity generation failed

Hello everybody,

So I have followed Microsoft's link to set up virtual entities in HR: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/human-resources/hr-admin-integration-common-data-service-virtual-entities

However, after the Generate/Refresh steps, I encountered this error:

Have anybody seen the same error? The link Virtual entity FAQ and Admin center don't seem to help.

Thank you in advance for any input.

    Hello Rachel,

this is still a Preview version, so errors might occur. You really must follow the steps

not sure if my video helps, but here it is. For me it worked. After you verify it once again, please raise at ticket with Microsoft.

    hello Nicu,

I have followed all steps till generate/refresh where I encountered the error. btw I deployed it on a trial environment so it might be the issue.

I don’t believe it’s working on trials. It has to be sandbox, as far as I know. For a long time now, trials did not give you full admin right.

    Hi,

I'm from Microsoft Dynamics support.  This is to inform you that I could see there is a open product bug request to address the "Virtual entity generation failed" issue. Product team is currently working on this issue and I'll share you the updates once it is fixed.

    Details about the bug:

When the user clicks the Generate/refresh button in HR to generate a virtual entity, the amount of time it can take to generate the entity can be a few seconds to 20 minutes, depending on the mood CDS is in. Currently a selected entity displays "Available" as the status until the generation process is completed. So the user doesn't have any indication in the UI that the process is still working without flipping over to the Process automation screen to see if any status has been reported there. And that page doesn't show which entities were selected for generation.
The scope of this deliverable is to add a pending status for entities that are currently in process of generation. When the user clicks Generate/refresh:
    1. Change the status of selected entities to "Pending".
    2. When a response is received back from CDS, update the Status based on the response:
      1. If successful, change the status to "Generated".
      2. If failed, change the status to "Failed".
