Sending emails through GP crashes GP

I just applied GP 18.5.1596 in an attempt to solve the issue with emailing from GP. The first attempt to email resulted in a DYNAMICS.EXE stopped working message and GP crashed. In the event viewer I see this log. The only have GP installed on their terminal server so I only one machine to try this on.
