Hai All,
We have changed few GL account categories. But changes are not reflecting in finance report. Is there data refresh sequence or batch job need to run to get the latest changes in Finance reports.
or do we need to reset the Data mart. But this cause any issue in date due to frequent reset
Please advise
Hi Sunil,
You mean main account categories?
Changing them can result in problems in the financial / management reporter.
Probably try restarting your machine to see if this fixes the issue.
If this does not help, reset the datamart. Before doing that ensure that you have a backup of your reports.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Sunil G Kurup,
You can try with the following.
1) First; try by deleting those accounts in finance reports. Save the record. Then re-create those accounts in finance reports and save the records again. After that, generate the report and check if accounts are displaying or not.
2) If Point 1 does not solve the issue; then reset the datamart and check.
Best regards,Sourav Dam

Thanks Ludwig. we are facing the issue n production once we update the Main account categories.
Is it harmful to reset the data-mart frequently
Thanks Sourav. We already tried the first option as mentions. but still account not reflecting under updated category. Previously Plant Maintenance ledger under Other Exp. Now I change to COGS as advised by Finance team. But Income statement not reflecting the proposed changes.
additionaly could reset the MR and then try to validate the output
How much time it may take if you delete this report in MR and re-create it from the scratch?
Can you try with this please in case even after re-setting the datamart is not solving this issue!
Hi Sourav/Sunil,
I would not recommend deleting the report in MR and recreating it because this won't help if you change things such as the account number of account category!
One option that might work is restarting your machine and the MR services.
Yet there is no guarantee that this fixes the issue.
If the data transferred to the data mart are wrong then only a reset of the data mart - see my further response and the one from Rahul - seems to be a feasible option to get this fixed.
Thanks All. I have reset the data mart and got the updated figure based on my category assignment.
But I just want to know, is it harm full or any issue if we do the data mart reset as and when required.
Hi Sunil G Kurup ,
Datamart re-set is not a frequent activity. You can do this only when data transferred to the datamart is wrong as Ludwig Reinhard mentioned.
Good to know that this is fixed for you now.
A data mart reset is only a 'means of last resort' and in an ideal world you should not use it.
Yet, in reality people often rename accounts, change account numbers, categories, etc. that create inconsistencies between the D365FO data and what has been transferred to the MR data mart.
If this happens your only change is often a datamart reset.
P.S. If your issue has been fixed and the questions been answered then please be so kind and verify the answers. many thanks for your support.
