When I run Maintenance-Backup within GP the process freezes. I can look in Task Manager and it shows GP as Not Responding. I can look on the server in the backup folder and see the file is created and it closely matches the file size of the last successful backup. Any ideas why this occurs? I am assuming that if I can run a backup within SQL Server Admin for the database that I am covered.
I believe you have to have Dynamics GP installed on the actual SQL Server where the GP databases exist, other than that, it is mainly a matter of making sure you're logged into Dynamics GP as 'sa', as that is the only GP login that would have permissions on the SQL side to do a backup from within Dynamics GP or SQL.
