2-optionset field doesn't show any value on form.

Posted on by 275

Hello

I must be missing something here but got no clue. I have created a 2-optionset field(yes/no). When I placed it on form, I'm not able to see the default value "NO" in there. I'm sure the default value is NO. Same thing works on other form.

Thanks Andrew, I re-imported all records after updating the field.

As mentioned by Andrew bulk edit is a simple method to populate the field

If you have a large number of records you could use my app to bulk update a larger set of records, without having to cycle through multiple pages of records one by one

The installer is located here  https://github.com/josephmcmac/XRM-Developer-Tool/releases

I have documented how to do a bulk update in this article https://wordpress.com/post/josephmcmac.wordpress.com/99

You can usually replace "equals NO" condition with "not equals YES" - that works for the existing records as well.

You can do bulk-update of that field. I don't see other way of doing that.

Thank you, that makes sense. But I'm using this option set field to control workflow steps, is there a way to default it to NO on existing records?

    Hello,

I believe this is because you open record that existed before you created that field. This means that value of this field for records existed before field creation will be null (and not default value for a field) and this is why you don't see value when you open a field.
