FA - Depreciate Routine - Select Asset Group ID

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

If you open  Tools-->Routines-->Fixed Assets-->Depreciate and then click on the link 'Asset Group ID'  - the 'Select Assets' window opens up.  There is a 'Current Group' window where the fixed asset groups should appear.

I have two users who see different groups, and one user who can't see any.

Can any help with where the security on this may be?  I want these users to be able to see all the FA groups.

Thanks!

Joe

    Leslie.

Thanks for the response.  I have a follow-up question, is there any way to change the owner of an asset group?  My concern is that now we have asset groups linked to individual user accounts.  What if the creating user leaves the company?  Do I have to keep their account alive so someone can run depreciation on their asset groups?

We are looking at switching roles for some employee's, but having one users acct attached to asset groups may cause a bit of an issue unless I can change the asset group owner.

Thanks!  Happy Thanksgiving to you as well

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

This is working as designed. Asset Groups are created at the user level and only visible to the user who created it.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Happy Thanksgiving!
